Introduction
Commanding a rich horological history, Eberhard are famed for their work from the 20th century across a whole host of wristwatches, but it is the chronograph that earned the brand their stripes, with their mid-century chronographs boasting impressive finishing and being powered by technologically astute movements, much like the example that we have here. Powered by the manual-wind movement, this timepiece is an 18kt yellow gold chronograph that boasts the brand’s distinctive aesthetic influence, mainly shown through its long lugs. Featuring a hinged hunter case that can be opened like a pocket watch, this timepiece boasts a thin bezel and a bright silver dial with Breguet numerals and hands. Decidedly mid-century in its design, but modernised on the wrist thanks to large 39mm size and long lugs, this is mid-century Eberhard at their very best.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
Watch is in overall very good condition. The yellow gold case shows surface scratches and a more noticeable ding to the bezel at two o’clock, while the case back displays surface scratches. The pin holding the hinge together is broken and in need of repair.. The dial shows spotting across the surface along with scratches and small chips, and there is wear to the painted black Breguet hour markers. The blued hands remain generally clean. It is fitted with a brown lizard strap and a gold-plated pin buckle.
Please note: The watch ticks at time of cataloging, but timekeeping is poor and a service is needed.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
Our Perspective
An appealing example of Eberhard's mid-century watchmaking prowess, we can see where the brand's modern design language stemmed from, with watches like this boasting long lugs and a well-executed chronograph.
